The YHA site has been subject to an archaeological examination and the need to protect this archaeology was prominent in the hostels design.  The Terracade™ Terracotta clay tile suits the location perfectly as it is in the heart of the rocks and blends well with the surrounding heritage buildings.

Terracade™ is an environmentally friendly long life product which is also low maintenance meaning the product will perform at its peak for many years to come.

Now in its fifth year, the national awards program was created by Building  Products News (BPN) magazine specifically to recognize the best in Australia's Building Industry.  Leading Australian designers, builders and manufacturers gathered to celebrate the best sustainable practices at the prestigious gala event, hosted by James O'Loglin from the ABC's New Inventors.
