 An integrated façade system that promises to set new standards for energy and resource-saving architecture has today been launched in Australia by Alucobond Architectural.
Alucobond Photovoltaic combines Alucobond aluminium composite panels with functional photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity, enabling architects and designers to utilise building facades for sustainable energy generation.
The photovoltaic modules are mounted on the usual substructures and simply joined with prefabricated plug-in cables.
From urban housing projects and office buildings to shopping centres, parking blocks and airports, Alucobond Photovoltaic can be integrated into the most differing façade formations in a creative way.

Areas of a building with good exposure to sunlight can be fitted with photovoltaic modules, while shadowed areas can be fitted with standard Alucobond aluminium composite panels.
To encourage sales growth of Alucobond Photovoltaic in Australia, Alucobond Architectural has appointed Daniel Ferster to the new position of Business Development Manager – Alucobond Photovoltaic.
Mr Ferster most recently worked as Account Manager – Building Products with Alucobond Architectural’s sister company, Halifax Vogel Group (HVG).
“Daniel fulfilled his role at HVG with enthusiasm and expertise and we have no doubt that he will bring these same qualities to his role of introducing and communicating the environmental benefits of Alucobond Photovoltaic to architects, builders and designers,” said Mr Rayment.
